Gen 31:22-42
Lord I thank you that you have helped me develop into a hard worker. I ask that in the work setting you would bless my efforts. Lord I thank you for the discipline you have helped me develop in my study time and ask that you would now help me apply this hard work ethic to every area of my life throughout each day so that the demonstration of my faith may be a blessing to those around me.

Gen 31:1-21
Father, you and you alone know the plans you have for my life. You have brought me safe thus far and I trust you completely for my future. Lord I ask that especially as my future career progresses that you would help me know your will. Give me Lord confidence in you, an understanding of your plans for my life and obedience and determination to follow them.

Gen 29:31-30:24
Father God, this is not the way I would have built a nation! But Hallelijah, I am not you, your ways are higher than mine and I praise you for that. Your will is unfolded through strange and unexpected circumstances and I am both pleased and thankful that your will has been done in my life. I don't understand some of the events, but trust that they are part of your plan of salvation.

Gen 28: 14b-30
Father. patience has never been one of my strong points, although I have seen some develpment in this area. Lord I would ask that you would especially help me develop patience with those peopl and situations that frustrate me. Lord I know that you can fill me with your peace and this is what I would ask you do the next time I start to feel impatient with someone or something.

Gen 29: 1-14a
Father God I thank you this morning for the wonderful family you have placed me in. I realise that I had no choice about it but feel extremely nlessed by being part of it. Thank you that each of my family members have different gifts, talents and advice, thank you that hey all love me unconditionally. Help me to show and demonstrate unconditional love to all of my fanily meembers too, that in some way I may bring blessing from you to them.

Psalm 119: 25-48
Father although the prayer below is short, it is packed with the help I need to grow into Jesus likeness. Help me do this I pray.
Re-orientate me, Lord so that I'm always turned to you.
Recharge me so that I have the energy I need to live for you.
Renew me, so that I will always obey you.

Hebrews 12: 4 - 17
Father I thank you for the rythm of life and pray especially for those occasions when I have more time to reflect, like holidays and weekends. I ask during these times you would give me more opportunities to reflect on my priorities and ask that you would develop them to align my will with yours.

Gen 28: 10-22
There is so much packed into these 12 verses. I love the image of ther stairway to heaven that speaks of your otherness, you live in heaven far away from us, yet you are also fully committed to us here on earth. You sent Jesus to die for me that I may also ascend into the heavenly realm. I thank you that you are totally and unconditionally committed to me, help me reciprocate these attitudes.

Gen 27: 30-46
Father having read this passgae and acompanying notes, I am reminded of the passage in James 3 that speaks of the power of the tongue, the impact and power of words. I ask this morning Father that you would help me use my words to encourage and build up others. Help me realise that words spoken in haste are not hastily forgotten.

Gen 27: 1-29
In the midst of all this trickery and decit, you Father God are unfolding your sovereign plan. Father I thank you that you are sovereign and even though you give us free will and choice, you will acomplish your plan through your people. Lord help me to understand more the balance between your sovereignty and my free will.

Gen 26: 1-25
Father I thank you that here I read nore evidence that you are the God who keeps his promises. Lord you do not change your mind or go back on your word and although I change and encounter times of dry and difficult places this is down to me and not you. Father help me live a more consitently pleasing life.

Gen 25: 1-11, 19-34
For me, the main message in this passage is one about living for the moment against living for eternity. Lord I ask that you would always help me keep one eye on eternity and therefore make decisions about the here and now in the light of eternity. Help me not to give in to temptatiopn now at the cost of spoiling eternity.

Psalm 86
I do pray Father that you would give me an undivided heart, that my oassion and focus may be you and you alone. Lord I ask that all I do may be done out of my love for you, from the very mundane to the exciting. May I always have an attitude that gives you the glory and the honour that you deserve.

Acts 28: 17-31
Thank you Lord that you are in the business of turning hearts of stone into hearts of flesh. I ask Lord that you would continue to do this in my life. I also ask that you would help me recognise others whose hearts have become hard and help me help them and you to resore relationship and make thier hearts soft once more. Make me an instrument of your peace.

John 12~: 37-50
Lord you have created me to be part of a community. Lord within this community I thank you for the opportunities I have to be accountable. I thnak you especially for the pioneering work I am involved with and ask tht you would use these to enable members of your church to develop and grow faith.

John 12: 27-36
Lord Jesus, you did not run from your responsibility of securing my salvation and the salvation of all who will accept you through the cross of Calvery. Lord help me therefore not to run from my responsibility of living my life to please you and to draw others to you. Lord help me take my evangelism responsibility seriously.

John 12: 20-26
Lord Jesus I simply want to thank you for the opportunity you have gained for me to experience eternal life. Lord would you help me invest in my future now. I want so much to make a difference in the lives of those I care for and love so that they too may have the chance of enjoing eternity with you.

John 12:12-19
Father I pray that I would never lose sight of what you are doing. Help me to move with your times that I might be part of the work you are doing. Help me never to obstruct the work youare doing but give me understanding and a willing heart to contribute to it.

John 12: 1-11
Lord I thank you for this account of Mary's selfless act of love. She didn't count the cost, she only put you first. Thank you Jesus for your selfless act of love as you laid down your life for me at Calvery. Help me I pray to live in a way that always puts you first and that doesn't count the cost, help me live extravagantly towards you.

Psalm 126
Thnak you Father that as with the psalmist I can share experiences of joy. Not because of victory or prosperity but because of the blessing of your presence. Thank you that through Jesus you have made a way for me to enjoy your presence day by day.

Acts 9: 32-43
Father God, you are a life giving God and I thank you for the new life you have given me. I thank you too that this was not a one off occurance but a steady ongoing pouring out of your life demonstrated in my ongoing developemnt of faith. Please keep growing me.

John 11: 45-57
Father God, you are in control, you are sovereign, you rule your world with truth and justice, you can change the course of history in the blinking of an eye. I wonder why you allow wars to continue, I guess you must have a prupose. I thank you that your plan will succeed, your will be done, give me confidence in these truths I pray.

John 11: 28 - 44
Lord Jesus in this passage today I read of your human nature, not your physical human nature, but your emotional human nature. You shared the pain of Martha nd Mary. Lord Jesus you share my pain too and I thank you that I can bring all things to you with confidence because you care. Lord help me know what I need so I may ask for it.

John 11: 17-27
I love this account of Martha's complete trust in Jesus and the appropriate intamcy that is demonstrated. She has complete confidence in who Jesus is and the purposes he has been called to acomplish. She lays no blame at his feet for not arriving sooner. Lord Jesus help me develop this absolute confidence in your ability to deal with my circumstances.

John 11: 1-16
Father I am not sure why you allow suffering and pain yet I know that through it your glory and compassion are shown and your grace and love are demonstrated. Lord God I pray for those I konw expereincing pain at the moment, especially Ruth, Tom and Rachael. Lord God I ask that you would be close to them and that they and I may be reassured by your care and that your word shows that you honour suffering and pain.

John 10: 31-42
Father God as I reflect ack over the past couple of years I thank you for answered prayer. I ask Father that you would inspire meto ask you for miracles that demonstrate your divine nature that removes any doubt from my mind. Father help me to reflect more upon the miracles I see in my own life.

Psalm 19
This Psalm speaks of 4 ways that you reveal yourself to me Father god. Through creation, through your word the bible, through relationship and through conscience, clearly Holy Spirit plays a huge part in conveying all of these to me. Lord I pray that through this week you would allow me to find time to meditate upon you to know you better than I do right now.

James 3: 13-18
I am aagain reminded that wisdom will be evident in my life, not by what I know, but by what I do. I ask today Father God that you wold give me more wisdom, therfore change my actions, in the areas of parenthood and finance.

Proverbs 3: 13-35
I understand that wisdom comes by doing God's will and as I do his will then I will become more like him - more wise. I recognise today that the only way for me to live wisely is by doing your will. Help me Father to know yur will through Holy Spirit and through your word and therefore be changed into the person you would have me be.

Proverns 3: 1-12
The teaching here in proverbs is about living and not knowing. Will you enable me Father to live wisely because of a deep rooted knowledge of you and of scripture. Thank you that wisdom comes in many ways
- teaching
- love and faithfulness
- trust in the Lord
- honouring the Lord with our wealth
- responding to discipline
Help me gain more wisdon Father by being open to you and living out this teaching.

Proverbs 2
Ftaher in my search for wisdom I must first come to you, the author of all that is wise. Lord would you help me to know you more and more. Would you work on myheart that my desires may become fully in line with yours. Lord through my desire to change I pray that you would make me more wise.
